Falls is situated in the south east corner of Zambia, which it shares
with neighboring Zimbabwe. Accessing Victoria Falls from the Zambian
side is the preferred place to access this incredible wonder of the
world. Livingstone town, names after the famous Scottish explorer, is
about 10km from Victoria Falls and is safe and known for its friendly
and happy people. AFRICA MEMORIES TIP:
6.3kg
tiger caught on the Main Zambezi River, Jan 2008 (Photograph
by Natalie Knibbs©) Mambova Rapids are particularly productive fishing spots with glides, deep runs, deeper holes, and an assortment of bank sides. These waters are undeniably the most productive tiger fishing waters during the low water months of September and November. Just watch the levels of the water at this time of the year as they are usually are low at this time but clarity is excellent and water temperatures are heating up, all conducive to good fly fishing on the main Zambezi River. June and July are also good fishing months when the waters recede off the flood plains into the main channel.
