SAVANNA LODGE
LODGE Chobe
Savanna Lodge is situated in the Eastern Caprivi of Namibia, on a
peninsula on the northern bank of the Chobe River, overlooking the
vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats. The lodge
offers guests a hideaway for those looking for an exclusive Chobe
River experience. The focal point of the lodge is a thatched open
sided main building which features a 270 degree view over the Chobe
River and beyond to the Chobe National Park. Chobe Savanna Lodge is
relaxed and informal, set in a classic African Savanna environment
with sweeping vistas surrounding the lodge.
Rooms
with beautiful views Chobe
Savanna Lodge accommodates only 24 guests in elegantly furnished
thatched chalets, all with private decks, a combined bedroom / lounge
area and en-suite facilities. All chalets are air-conditioned and have
complimentary mini bars. The lodge
accepts children of all ages. No childcare/baby-sitters are provided
for. Children must be under the care of their parents at all times.
Children aged 17 yrs (inclusive) & younger to share with a parent
at all times. Getting
there Chobe
Savanna Lodge can only be accessed by boat transfer from Kasane, which
is accessed by a two-hour road transfer from Victoria Falls or
Livingstone, or via Maun by charter aircraft. Please note that the
Namibian Border closes at 16h00 and all guests arriving off scheduled
flights into Livingstone or Victoria Falls and transferring to Chobe
Savanna Lodge should therefore arrive no later than 13h00. Facilities
GAME VIEWING/ACTIVITIES The area
is renowned for its diverse and prolific wildlife including the rare
puku antelope. It is home to large herds of elephant, buffalo and
hippo, as well as concentrations of other wildlife which come down to
the rivers edge to drink, graze and hunt. Unlike other properties,
where scheduled game activities are prioritized, we offer guests the
choice of just taking “time out” or joining in on one of the many
activities offered at the lodge.
Guests
have a choice of boat excursions in small maneuverable boats, which
are ideal for close up encounters with wildlife along the rivers edge.
Fishing
(catch & release) for bream or tigerfish is relaxing and
exhilarating at the same time and the surroundings refreshing.
Cultural
village visits to one of the surrounding local communities enables
guests to observe the deep-rooted traditional Caprivian life styles of
the local people. CAPRIVI
STRIP Caprivi
Strip is a long panhandle enclosed by permanent water and stretching
eastwards from the Kavango River to and along the Zambezi ending at
the border junction of Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia called
Kazungula, the place where four countries meet. AFRICA MEMORIES TIP:
