Kubu
Lodge Accommodation Kubu Lodge is situated on the banks of the Chobe River, just 2km upstream from the confluence with the Zambezi where 4 countries meet – Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia, in the northern Botswana village of Kazungula. The property covers 30 hectares of forest reserve land and is a sanctuary for the Chobe Bushbuck.

entry gate to the Chobe National Park is a mere 12km away and the
mighty Victoria Falls just an hour away. 11
wooden, thatched chalets are elevated on stilts each with a balcony
and are set on expansive lawns beneath giant ebony and wild fig trees
along the banks of the Chobe river. A pool is set down by the river
with pool loungers under the trees – a welcome cool and restful
retreat after a hot day game-viewing in the Chobe National Park. Kubu
Lodge is a smaller lodge if you are looking for peace and quiet and
escape the hustle and bustle of the bigger lodges and hotels in the
area. No phones, radios or T.V., just the
sights and sounds of nature. Please
note the lodge is not wheelchair friendly. Children over the age of 4 yrs are welcome. Open: March – 30 December 02 – 14 January (approx) Closed: 30 December – 01 January 14

NATIONAL PARK Chobe
National Park gets its name from the incredible Chobe River, which
forms its northern boundary, and shields about 10,700km2 of the
northern Kalahari. Vegetation varies from the lush floodplains along
the Chobe River, home to the Chobe Bushbuck which is found nowhere
else in the world, to the scorched Savuti which is famous for its
waterhole where many a filmmaker has captured stunning footage of
animal interaction, to dense mopane woodlands and various broadleaf
woodlands. This is big game country and famous for the huge herds of
buffalo and elephant and some exceptionally large prides of lion as
well as home the elusive and solitary leopard. AFRICA MEMORIES TIP: If
you are fortunate enough, you will see the otters playing in the water
just in front of Kubu lodge in the Chobe river, while you are relaxing
on one of the comfy pool-loungers listening to the birds and taking in
the beautiful surroundings, as well as visits from the Banded Mongoose
which forage for insects, spiders and fruits in the gardens under
rocks and in the thick underbush. Have your camera ready and capture those special unplanned
moments!
