MOREMI
LODGE Camp
Moremi is situated on the beautiful Xakanaxa Lagoon on the eastern
edge of the permanent Okavango Delta, within the Moremi Wildlife
Reserve. Here, where the life-giving waters of the Okavango meet up
with the vast Kalahari, ancient Mopane forests, open grassland,
seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats have formed, creating one
of the most magnificent and welcoming animal sanctuaries in all of
Africa. Shaded by giant ebony trees, the magnificent Moremi tree lodge
is an elegant elevated thatch and timber structure. Camp Moremi
accommodates only 22 guests in East African-style safari tents,
individually situated on raised teak platforms with private adjacent
facilities & viewing decks.
Children
over 12 years are accepted. No childcare/baby-sitters are provided and
children must be under the care of their parents at all times.
Children aged 17 yrs (inclusive) & younger to share with a parent
at all times. Getting
there Access
is by charter aircraft from Kasane, served by daily road transfers
from Victoria Falls, and Maun to Xakanaxa airstrip. The lodge
transfers guests to and from Xakanaxa airstrip. Camp Moremi may also
be reached by 4x4 vehicles or by unique boat transfer from Camp
Okavango. Facilities

VIEWING/ACTIVITIES Moremi
Wildlife Reserve is renowned for frequent sightings of lion, leopard
& cheetah, as well as wild dog. Other game seen in the area are
hyena, hippo and the full range of antelope, large and small,
including the red lechwe. Game
viewing is at its best in the dry season between July and October and
for the keen ornithologist birding can be very rewarding, especially
between November to April.
Activities
center around tracking big game on morning and afternoon game drives
by open 4x4 safari vehicle in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve
Exploring
the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat,
affords guests exceptional bird-watching opportunities, as birdlife is
prolific and varied, ranging from water birds to shy forest dwellers. CLIMATE The winter
months of May to August can be very cold at night, but pleasantly
warm, under clear blue skies, during the day. From
October until the first rains fall from late November to early
December, the weather can be tremendously hot, during both day and
night times. MOREMI
